Piccini1882, the family-owned company based in Tuscany, is making significant strides in the world of Prosecco. With a current landholding of 200 hectares spread across five vineyards in central and southern Italy, the company is reinforcing its presence.
According to the financial publication "Italia Oggi," Piccini1882, ranked as the 23rd largest Italian company in the wine industry, with a turnover of €110m (about $115m) following a 10% growth in 2022, has acquired a 35% stake in Vinicola Cide. Vinicola Cide is renowned for its production of private-label Prosecco, amassing a revenue of approximately €22m in 2022, with 65% of it originating from exports, primarily focusing on the German market. Earlier this year, Piccini1882 purchased the German distribution company, further strengthening its position.

Mario Piccini, the President of Piccini1882, has additionally committed to acquiring an additional 30% of the company for €450,000 (about $474,000) by February 2025, followed by an additional 25% for a total of €1.5m (about $1,6m) in April 2025. This expansion is set to be financed through a €6m (about $6,3m) bond issuance.
The portfolio of Piccini1882 includes the family run vineyards: Fattoria di Valiano in Chianti Classico, Tenuta Moraia in Maremma, Villa al Cortile in Montalcino, Regio Cantina in Vulture, and Torre Mora on Mount Etna.
