Wine sales up by over 3% in 2007

According to recently released figures from the Norways's retail monopoly. Vinmonopolet, wines sales rose by 3.2% in 2007 to 56.7m litres. Italians reds topped the charts for the second consecutive year. Among white

wines, Germany has displaced France as the preferred source.

Vinmonopolet is the monopoly’s retail company that was set up in 1994 to comply to the statutes of the European Economic Area. Wine accounts for 79.7% of its sales.
