Oscar winning film director Martin Scorsese has created a nine-minute commercial for Freixenet, the Spanish sparkling wine producer. The short film, called ‘The Key to Reserva’, is a homage to Alfred Hitchcock. Made in a mockumentary style, it shows Scorsese creating a film based on three pages of a long-lost Hitchcock script. Unfortunately the crucial fourth page has been lost, but Scorsese’s character presses on with the project anyway.

"It’s one thing to preserve a film that’s been made,” says the deadpan Scorsese. "It’s another to preserve one that has not been made.”

A mysterious key that appears in the film is later shown to open a box containing a bottle of Freixenet. There are no details available as to how much Scorsese earned for the ad, which can be downloaded from YouTube.
