During the Oenovideo Festival held in the Swiss village of Sierre from May 3th to May 5th, the International Federation of Wine Journalists (FIJEV) organised a forum on Winetourism. At that time the SWEA, the new Swiss export body that
took over after Swiss Wine went bankrupt, announced that the Swiss would not have any official representation at Vinexpo this year. Given that Swiss wines' main customers - the Germans and Scandinavians - prefer Prowein, they felt that participation would have been too expensive. The SWEA was present in the Düsseldorf trade fair in March this year.
