Wine cheaper than water

A regional supermarket chain in Australia is currently selling wine at prices below that of water. Fisher s in northwestern Victoria is promoting

a red and white pair of wines from local cellars at two Australian dollars (1,20 ) per bottle. With this special offer manager Alan Fisher hopes to aid local grape growers whose market has collapsed in the face of overproduction.
