Vinitaly is the latest significant wine trade fair to changes its dates for 2021. Normally held in April each year, Vinitaly 2021 will be moved to 20-23 June, to run concurrently with Enolitech and Sol&Agrifood.

The decision was taken to allow buyers from outside Europe to attend all the relevant events at the same time.

“We are also working with the Fondazione Arena, the organisers of the opera season, and Verona City Council to offer our international guests a not-to-be-missed edition,” said Maurizio Danese, president of Veronafiere, the company behind Vinitaly.

Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere, added that the extension will give the government time to prepare procedures for international business travellers seeking to enter Italy. “Other events aimed at promoting the wine sector will also take place in Europe in the same period.”

The OperaWine event, which will have its tenth anniversary next year, will be held on 19th June 2021.
