Constellation Brands is creating a new corporate unit to look after its premium brands and craft spirits. The independent division is to become a "leader in the fine wine category and among the top portfolios in cult and luxury wine," according to international media reports.

For this purpose, a senior executive is to be hired. The position will report directly to Robert Hanson, executive vice president and president of Constellation's wine and spirits business.

The corresponding portfolio comprises wine brands like Robert Mondavi Winery, The Prisoner Wine Company, Simi Reserve Tier, Ruffino Estates, Schrader Cellars, Double Diamond, To Kalon Vineyard Company, Mount Veeder Winery and Booker Wines. In spirits, brands such as High West, Casa Noble, Mi Campo, Copper & Kings, Nelson's Green Brier Distillery and The Real McCoy are worth mentioning.

At the same time, Jaymie Schoenberg takes on the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Brand Management, Mainstream & Premium Brands. Schoenberg was previously Vice President, Brand Management, Core Wine & Spirits.

Chris Millard, meanwhile, was promoted to Senior Vice President, Winegrowing and Spirits. He previously served as Vice President and Chief Winemaker.
