The South African government has loosened restrictions on alcohol sales as of 2 February 2021.

According to local media reports, wine and liquor shops will be allowed to open from 10am-6pm Monday to Thursday. Wineries will be allowed to sell wine during their regular opening hours, and restaurants will be allowed to serve wine until 10pm.

Only a few days ago, the winegrowers' association Vinpro filed a lawsuit against the sales ban
