While trade fairs were cancelled all over the world, last year ProWine Shanghai was the only international wine trade fair that could take place – of course under strict hygiene and quarantine regulations. And this year, too, the fair is expected to go off without a hitch from 9 to 11 November.
The organisers report lively interest from exhibitors all over the world. The demand from Spain is currently the highest. For example, ICEX (Espana Exportacion e Inversiones) will be represented with a large national pavilion. The Catalan export organisation PRODECA (Promotora d'Exportacions Catalanes S.A.) will also be there and is planning to increase its previous stand area this year. Other international associations such as Business France, Wines of Portugal, and Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association as well as large companies such as Les Grands Chais de France (GCF Group), Henkell Freixenet, and International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) have also already confirmed their participation.
Visitor marketing has also been actively intensified. For ProWine Shanghai 2021, the focus will be on the markets in the north of China. Promotion events with supermarkets, bars and hotels are being prepared in more than 50 Chinese cities.
The organisers see China's fast-growing wine market as a big reason for the demand in participation, and this offers a lot of potential for producers and traders.
ProWine Shanghai 2021 will take place from 9 to 11 November 2021 in Halls W4 and W5 of the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) – at the same time as Food & Hospitality China (FHC). Further information is available at www.prowine-shanghai.com.
