The standing committee of the Bureau Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bourgogne (BIVB) has elected Frédéric Drouhin as their new president. He succeeds Louis-Fabrice Latour, who had only been in office since 1 January 2020. According to the BIVB press release, Latour resigned from his position for personal reasons, but will continue to be available for the management of the house.

Drouhin, who is managing director of the Joseph Drouhin House in Beaune, will hold the position until the end of the current mandate in December 2021. The current incumbent François Labet will remain deputy.

The new president wants to prioritise two projects that are particularly important for the future: "Let's commit ourselves to the terroirs in our areas that represent our vision of wine in society with respect for nature and the people who live there," he says.

His second focus concerns the opening of the new "Cité des vins et des Climats," a centre that will become the "gateway to the vineyard" in Burgundy for a wide audience. He also hopes to create an economic aspect for the region.

In addition to his leadership positions in the Joseph Drouhin family business, Frédéric Drouhin was president of the Fédération des Négociants-Eleveurs de Bourgogne (FNEB) from 2014 to 2018, as well as a member of the National Committee of the INAO (Institut national de l'origine et de la qualité) from 2007 to 2016. itp
