The two Tuscan premium wineries Ornellaia and Masseto have a new sales and marketing director. As Giovanni Geddes da Filicaja, CEO of both companies, announced, Vianney Gravereaux will take over the post from 1 April. He will work side by side with estate director Axel Heinz. Tim Banks, who held the role for nine years, will return to France and continue to work in the wine sector.
"I would like to personally thank Tim," says CEO Geddes, "for his professional contribution to the success of the estates, but also for his personal contribution to team building and relationship building, for which he will not soon be forgotten. At the same time, I look forward to continuing on this path with Vianney, with whom we will surely achieve new goals."
Vianney Gravereaux was previously Masseto's international sales manager. He is French by birth, speaks several languages and has extensive international experience in the world of Fine Wine, for example working with brands such as Philipponnat, Salon and Peugeot Saveurs.
"When I visited Ornellaia a few years ago, I was impressed by the exceptional quality of the wines and the place where they are made. I never imagined that in 2020 I would be part of the great team at Masseto and just a year later I would be given the high-profile post of Sales and Marketing Director of both businesses. It will be a great challenge to continue the work Tim Banks has done so far, and I can't wait to take on the task."
The current Ornellaia team consists of oenologist Olga Fusari and brand manager Greta Roscioni. The same positions are held by Eleonora Marconi and Susanne Weber at Masseto. Elena Oprea is responsible for the communication of both brands.
