It was only recently announced that the InVivo cooperative group was renaming its subsidiary InVivo Wine, founded in 2015, Cordier by InVivo (LINK). Now the next big change: InVivo Wine - i.e. Cordier by InVivo - will take over the majority of shares from Vinadeis on 1 April.

Both companies have been closely connected since as early as 2015, when InVivo Wine entered Vinadeis with ten percent of the capital. The takeover plans had been known for a long time (WEINWIRTSCHAFT reported). The merger is to strengthen the market power of the individual wineries and their portfolios. The company now cultivates about 25,000 hectares of vineyards and counts about 3,600 winegrowers and nine partner cooperatives; production takes place at six locations.

Meanwhile, numerous products and lines have been and are being revised: Café de Paris, a sparkling wine that the company took over from the Pernod Ricard group at the beginning of 2020, has been given a completely new look. In 2021, there will be additional limited and seasonal editions, a sweeter "Ice" cuvée designed to be enjoyed with ice cubes, and "Spring White" for "festive occasions in the warm months."

Also new this year are the Wine Seltzers of the "Café de Paris" brand. They have only 6.5% ABV and less than 100 calories per serving and are intended to cover the seltzer segment, which is already growing strongly in the USA, for example. The flavours are peach, elderflower and cherry, and the bottles contain 200 mL.

The Vinadeis cooperative group will have a turnover of around €200 million in 2020. The best-known product in this country is "La Cuvée Mythique" from the Languedoc.
