At noon on 20 May, a fire broke out in a warehouse of the Bronco Wine Company in Napa Valley. According to reports in local media, it caused preliminary damage of about US$2.5 million. However, the damage was mainly limited to the roof of the facility. No one was injured.

The firefighters involved were able to bring the fire under control within a few hours, so that about 90 percent of the warehouse and about 80 percent of the inventory could be saved. Despite the fire, the building is largely intact and can still be used for storage purposes. Up to 600,000 cases of wine are usually stored in the hall.

The Bronco Wine Company produces about 60 branded wines, the best-known being Charles Shaw, which is sold for US$1.99 in the American discounter Trader Joe's. sw
