The German wine trade turn out in force at ProWein, to see the trends and taste the new wines. The cancellation of ProWein is therefore a blow for them, as well as for producers.
If you booked a stand at ProWein 2020 with a view to introducing your wine into Germany, you now have another opportunity to put your wines in front of the trade, at no charge.
The German trade magazine Weinwirtschaft, published by Meininger Verlag, is giving producers that chance through the Meiningers ProWein Tasting.
At the end of March, the editorial team plus a crack group of tasters will conduct a large, professional tasting of new products, and present their results in a magazine special.
Germany is the world’s largest import market, worth €7bn ($7.7bn), of which about €2bn is premium (that is, dedicated to wines over €5.00 a bottle). Weinwirtschaft is the must-read trade publication, and its recommendations are taken seriously by the industry.
Only wineries, importers or distributors who booked a stand at ProWein 2020 are permitted to enter.
If you want to participate, simply register and send in two bottles before the deadline.
