Henkell Freixenet has now acquired the remaining shares in Lithuanian distributor Filipopolis after taking a majority stake in the company in 2018. "With the acquisition of Filipopolis, we have completed our cluster in the Baltics. In just three years, we have not only almost doubled our turnover, but also developed our strategic brands Freixenet and Mionetto into leading Prosecco and Cava brands," says Dr. Andreas Brokemper, CEO of Henkell Freixenet.

Filipopolis, based in Kaunas, will henceforth operate under the name UAB Henkell Freixenet Lietuva. After successfully establishing the Hungarian sparkling wine brand Törley ten years ago, the company focused on the distribution of Mionetto Prosecco and Freixenet.

"Sparkling wine is an established category in Lithuania – and the import segment is growing steadily. With new brands and products like Mionetto Prosecco and Freixenet Cava, we want to make the categories even more attractive for Lithuanian customers," says Rūta Žukaitytė, the company's managing director. According to its own information, Henkell Freixenet Lietuva is the market leader in the Prosecco, Cava and Italian premium wine segments in Lithuania. sw
