As more wine lovers and member of the trade go into lockdown, it’s incredibly important that people keep talking to each other. Isolation and house arrest are bad for mental health; connecting with other people can keep everyone grounded.
Below is a list of online wine-related events that anybody can join. This list will be regularly updated.

If the tasting requires specific wines, please ensure they are wines that are widely available. Please note we are not listing commercial events that people have to pay to join.

Bamboozled Quiz Night
Rebecca Gibb MW, creator of the Bamboozled range of jigsaw puzzles, is running a quiz night, with topics centred around wine and spirits. To join in, pour yourself a glass, and grab a pen and paper. The evening lasts for about 45 minutes and there are wine and whisky themed puzzles to be won.

Quaravino Dinner Dates
Faye Cardwell will be hosting various series of online dinners with Italian winemakers in May. Quaranvino 1 with 6 wine producers from the north to Sicily will be held twice a week, while Quaranvino 2 will feature four wineries from the north and Sardegna every Friday night. The wines are shipped from the partner distributor across the EU, recipes for the dinner are provided and participants get to interact with the winemaker and other guests directly. Registration gets you access to as many of the dinners in the series that you fancy joining.

Online orange wine tasting
Hosted by Sean Evans from Geordie Wine Guide and Simon Woolf. All you have to do to participate open a bottle of skin contact wine and visit Simon’s Instagram account. Click on the “live” icon.
Guests will include luminaries of the orange wine world. The tasting will be done using a split screen, to ensure interaction between participants and guests.

Encounter with 15 Italian wine producers
#storiedvino is a virtual wine fair that brings together 15 Italian producers, from some of the most significant wineries in Italian, to discuss their craft. Vineyard Chats
Join sommelier and writer Jeff Harding on his Instagram LIVE channel Monday to Friday as he interviews winemakers in their vineyards, providing the homebound with some virtual sunshine and a peek at the source of the wine we’re drinking in virtual happy hours.
