Just under three months until it's ProWein again - this time on the usual March date. Of course, Meininger Verlag will also be represented at the fair - with familiar faces, but also with completely new ideas.
“Sustainability redefined” - Meininger's International Wine Conference is back
As was the case last time in 2019, things will get underway on the Saturday before ProWein.
Always a fixed date in the industry, the trade publication Meininger's Wine Business International and WEINWIRTSCHAFT invite you to Meininger's International Wine Conference. On March 18, 2023, sustainability issues will be discussed at Hotel Kö59 Düsseldorf (formerly Interconti). The theme "From Production to Selling: Sustainability redefined" brings renowned experts and key international players of the wine world together.
First glance at the program:
Various keynote speeches and discussions will focus on the main cause of CO₂ emissions, and at the same time the most important resource in wine production, the glass bottle. Innovative companies present alternatives to the classic glass bottle.
Large wine and trading companies report on how they implement the topic of sustainability in the vineyard.
And then on to the Meininger Awards
Saturday evening is - finally again - all about the Meininger Awards - and thus the wine actors who will be honoured by Meininger Verlag. In six different categories, we honour a well-known figure in the industry for their achievements:
- National / International Wine Entrepreneur
- Lifetime Achievement
- Wine Family of the Year
- Spirits Company of the Year, and lastly
- the Jury's Honorary Award.
The anticipation is rising to see who it will be in 2023...

At Meininger Verlag's ProWein stand in 2023, everything revolves around the subject of beverages.
Lectures and tastings at the booth (Hall 4)
From Sunday, March 19, 2023, everything will then revolve around the actual events at the trade fair. With many lectures and tastings, Meininger Verlag will invite visitors to its stand in Hall 4. As always, renowned experts will be on hand to answer questions on the various topics and to share exciting wines.
Totally alcohol-free: World of Zero (Hall 1)
Absolutely on trend and held for the first time: the World of Zero, which Meininger Verlag is organizing together with ProWein in Hall 1. The focus is on everything without alcohol, a topic that has gained momentum at breakneck speed.
From sparkling to white and red wine to non-alcoholic distillates, there is a whole range of established and new products to taste. Exhibitors such as Schlumberger, Peter Riegel, Kolonne Null and Manufaktur Jörg Geiger will be represented with their own stands.

MUNDUS VINI Spring Tasting
For almost 10 years, the international wine award MUNDUS VINI has been an integral part of ProWein. In 2023, the competition at the fair will again award the best wines and producers from the spring tasting.
