The average intake of wine by the Danes has increased 50% in the period from 1995 to 2003-2006. And for the latter period, Danish women consumed a similar amount of wine as men, but far less beer, according to a report just published by the National Food Institute.
The report describes the status and development of dietary habits based on data from the Danish National Survey of Dietary habits and Physical Activity. The participants in the Diery survey kept a pre-coded food record for seven consecutive days; information on intake of food and beverages was collected from a representative sample of over 2700 individuals in 1995, more than 4100 individuals in 2000-2002 and more than 3200 individuals in 2003-2006.
